Execration bid its Mobile Legends team goodbye ahead of Mobile Legends Professional League Philippines (MPL PH) Season 8 due to “unfortunate circumstances.”
The popular Filipino esports organization said it is now finding a new home for its Mobile Legends crew.
”Due to unfortunate circumstances, we are supporting the current Execration ML team by finding an ideal organization where they can continue to thrive and find success,” Execration said in a statement.
”Once an agreement is finalized, we will make an official announcement on the next organization that will continue their journey.”
The team is composed of Kiel VJ “Kielvj” Hernandez, Joshua “Ch4knu” Mangilog, Duane “Kelra” Pillas, Patrick “E2max” Caidic, Renz “Renzio” Cadua, and Billy “Z4pnu” Alfonso.
Execration finished as the runner-up to Blacklist International in MPL PH Season 7 and ruled the 2021 Mobile Legends Southeast Asia Cup.
In a YouTube vlog by Z4pnu, the longest-tenured member of the team, he said Execration failed to secure an MPL PH spot for Season 8 as the league is reportedly shifting to a franchise-based model.
Unlike past seasons where teams have to go through qualifiers to play in MPL PH, organizations now have to buy a franchise slot. – Rappler.com
